English Version
The Río Cenicero project is located in the Andes mountain range, at the boundary of the Principal and Frontal Cordillera geological provinces, in the department of Calingasta, province of San Juan. It is part of the north-south porphyry copper belt of Chile-Argentina and is close to world class mining projects and mines such as Los Azules, Pachón, and Los Pelambres mine (Chile). It is approximately 330 km west of the city of San Juan.
Río Cenicero is a Cu-Mo porphyry system linked to high-sulfidation Au-Ag epithermal mineralization. The mineralization is hosted in Permian-Triassic basement rocks and Tertiary volcanic units intruded by Miocene subvolcanic bodies.
Since 2008, the project has been operated by Minera Peregrine Argentina S.A.U.(currentlycontrolled by Aldeberan Resources).Work completed to date includesregional and detailed geologic mapping, surface geochemistry, geophysical surveys, and 30 drill holes totaling 13,006 meters.
